    Based on the Audi A5 Sportback, the S5 version offered a combination of speed and luxury, making it one of the most appealing 5-door fastbacks on the market.

    The German carmaker introduced a facelifted version for the S5 Sportback in 2016 and enhanced the exterior design with sharper lines, updated the interior technologies, and added some ponies under the hood.

    Aesthetically, the reworked design featured sharper lines at the front, a new grille, redesigned headlights, and a lower air intake with sharp blade inserts. At the side, the sporty car remained pretty much the same, apart from the bigger 19-inch alloys. At the rear, the S5 got a redesigned bumper with quad exhaust tips and new LED stoplights. The lower suspension added to the S5’s squatter stance.

    Inside, every surface was covered with soft-touch materials. The cabin was fitted with Fine Nappa leather and “S super” sport seats. Audi installed the MMI infotainment system as standard for the S5 and offered a 12’3″ TFT display named Audi Virtual Cockpit in the instrument cluster.

    The most significant change for 2016 was to be found under the hood. The old supercharged V6 engine was dropped and replaced by a more powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged unit with even more power, 349 hp. These changes improved the car’s performance and added some bonus points in the fuel-efficiency department.
