Along with the refreshed GLE and GLE Coupe range produced by Mercedes-Benz, the AMG department also launched the GLE 63 S 4Matic+ Coupe version.

Even though the German automaker split its line of AMG products into a different brand, several models shared many parts. So, it was just normal that when the three-pointed star brand launched the GLE, the Affalterbach brand also followed with its performance SUV Coupe. But, unlike its lower-powered siblings, the 63 S 4Matic+ came with more standard features, and obviously, with its powerful V8 engine.

There was nothing subtle about the GLE 63 S 4Matic+ Coupe. Its front fascia boasted the Panamericana grille, but this time adorned with a redesigned badge on it that featured a single line for the satin-silver surrounding. Also, the multibeam LED headlights were adorned with four blocks (two on top and two on the bottom), replacing the formerly used inward-pointing V-shaped lights. From its profile, the performance SUV came fitted with standard 22″ light-alloy wheels. Finally, at the back, the car featured redesigned taillights that sported a line spread from the rear quarter panels onto the tailgate.

Inside, the new and enhanced MBAUX system was displayed on a 12.3″ touchscreen that sat atop the center stack. In addition, the driver’s instrument panel retained the previously used screen of the same size. Both displays were covered under the same piece of glass, creating a seamless look for them. Apart from the high-bolstered front bucket seats, the automaker also installed a split-folding bench in the back, fit for up to three adults and yet profiled just for two.

Under the hood, the four-liter V8 gasoline engine provided 612 PS (608 hp) as its predecessor.
