Jaguar took its liberty to change or add some modifications to the F-Type almost yearly. In 2017 it introduced the F-Type 400 Coupe.

The new version sat between the R-Dynamic and the V8 R versions, and it was priced accordingly to its power. But Jaguar already knew that they don’t have to repeat the mistake not to show, somehow, that it was a particular, limited-edition model. It was available both as a coupe or a convertible.

It was difficult to spot the yellow-gray “400 Sport” badges placed discretely on the new, black front lip spoiler and the rear panel from the exterior. It was easier to notice the broader sills and the rear diffuser finished in satin gray. Apart from these, it wasn’t easy to see the differences even when the car was parked, not to mention when passing by.

The interior was finished with new materials and a new steering wheel that sported the yellow “400 Sport” badge. Its designers assigned a black upholstery with yellow stitches and carbon-fiber trims. Its high-bolstered bucket-seats were race-inspired, but thanks to their thick cushions, they were not completely uncomfortable on long journeys.

The magic happens under the hood, where Jaguar engineers found a way to squeeze more power from the 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine. It was upgraded to 400 hp and paired as standard to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The F-Type 400 Sport limited edition was available for both coupe and convertible versions, with a rear or all-wheel-drive system.
