Probably versatility was the best word to describe the 2005 SRX. Why?

The Cadillac SRX drove like a sports sedan, had a distinctive design and could not be mistaken for any other SUV in the class, was equipped with many luxurious features and even offered seating for 7.

A sporty luxurious SUV, the SRX came with leather upholstery inside the stylish and comfortable interior.

Two engine options were available for 2005, a V6 and a V8 power plant, both mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel-drive system was available.

For 2005, no major updates were made, however, the model’s price increased as the most popular features on the previous version became standard on the new one.

The base model had standard rear-wheel-drive and featured the V6 engine. Standard equipment included leather upholstery, 8-way driver seat, power rear passenger seats, heated mirrors, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, dual-zone climate control and the OnStar communication system. Many options were available for the base SRX, such as an all-wheel-drive system, a sunroof, a navigation system, power-adjustable pedals, heated front seats and a trailer package. Most of the optional features were standard on the V8 model.

The more luxurious V8 added, of course, a more powerful engine, bigger 18-inch alloy wheels, memory seats for the driver, a wood/leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood interior accents, air-conditioning for the rear passengers, a premium Bose audio system and others. The Luxury Performance package available for the V8 included a navigation system, a DVD entertainment system for the rear passengers, third-row seats, xenon headlights, trailering equipment and even the Magnetic Ride Control suspension.
