Vehicle Overview

Introduced in 2004 as the 2005 model year, the Pontiac G6 was built on the GM Epsilon platform used with the Chevrolet Malibu, Saab 9-3, and other GM vehicles.

For 2008, Pontiac updated the G6 coupe with a focus on cosmetic details and additional standard equipment.

Aesthetically, the stylish coupe’s front fascia now featured chrome surrounds for the dual-port honeycomb grille, revised headlights, and body-colored mirrors instead of the old black ones.

Inside, the revised center stack was one of the most important ergonomic updates. It featured clear buttons and controls, while the information center found its place inside the instrument cluster at the bottom of the dials. GM enhanced the connectivity by introducing the optional My Link system that integrated Bluetooth, the audio system, the OnStar navigation system, and the XM satellite radio. Other interior updates included a new dark satin nickel trim on the steering wheel, the door panels, and the shifter plate. New two-tone leather or cloth upholsteries became available in 2008.

The Pontiac G6 Coupe was available in two trim levels: GT and GXP. The GT trim level included 17-inch alloys, air-conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, keyless go, a V-6 engine, a tweaked suspension, and foglights 8-speaker Monsoon audio system.

With the GT Premium Package, the coupe featured leather upholstery and heated front seats. The top-of-the-range GXP included the GT Premium Package features and added a larger V6 engine, as well as automatic climate control.
