    Vehicle Overview

Honda was ready to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Accord, so it introduced a facelift for this model in 2005 for the 2006 model year, adding more flair to the car, especially to the coupe version.

Honda still didn’t know precisely how to facelift a car and make it stand apart from its predecessors, but it tried its best. However, it knew precisely what to do from the engineering point of view to enchant its customers, and that’s where the 2003 Honda Accord Coupe shined. Furthermore, the automaker prepared the car to appeal to those looking for a sporty daily driver vehicle that could do school runs and weekly shopping without breaking the bank, fuel efficiency, or repair costs. It also proved to perform well on long travels, especially when just two people were traveling. For more than that, the four-door sedan was better suited.

It took a keen eye for detail to spot the differences between the 2003 and 2006 model years of the car. The automaker’s design department looked like it made all the changes during its lunch break. There were minor differences between them. On the 2006 Honda Accord Coupe, the automaker installed a trapezoidal-shaped main grille, which integrated a trim that surrounded the brand’s chromed badge. That forced the car manufacturer to make a new bumper with a straight upper side instead of an indented one, like on the non-refreshed version. Furthermore, the 2006 model year came with shorter side scoops that flanked the rectangular secondary air intake mounted on the apron.

From its profile, the refreshed seventh generation of the Honda Accord Coupe was available with 17-inch alloy wheels for higher grades, while the lower ones still ran on 15-inch steel wheels. Other than that, there were no changes. The newer version kept the body-colored door mirrors but featured standard heating, which customers appreciated. At the back, on the other hand, the car manufacturer installed new taillights for the 2006 Honda Accord Coupe. They had the same triangular shape that echoed the headlights, but they featured LEDs for the brake lights. In addition, the reversing lamps were mounted at the bottom of them, not in the middle.

Depending on the vehicle’s grade, the cabin was fitted with cloth upholstery, while the leather seats were still an option from the second grade up. However, the cabin sported fewer wood trims on the dashboard, which cleaned the cabin’s look. Between the front bucket seats, the automaker installed the gear stick or the gear selector, depending on the trims and options. At the same time, the rear passengers didn’t have enough headroom if they were full-size adults above the average height. Children, on the other hand, had plenty of that.

Under its skin, the 2006 Honda Accord Coupe came with a choice of two engines: a 2.4-liter inline-four and a 3.0-liter V6. Depending on the grade and options, the former was offered with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic gearbox, while the latter came standard with the five-speed automatic transmission and an available six-speed manual carried over from the Acura TSX. The Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) was standard, a feature that was sold as an option for other brands.
