Peugeot tried to increase its sales and introduced a sedan version for its successful 206 lineup in 2006, a car that was built in Iran for the far East and for the Eastern European market.

While Renault and Skoda gained an important market share in the small segment with their Symbol/Thalia and the Fabia Sedan, respectively, Peugeot struggled only with the 206/207 lineups. But the French brand with a lion on its badge had the plan to get more money out of an old platform. And that’s how the 206 Sedan made it to the market.

The 206 was already an old vehicle since it was introduced by Peugeot in 1998, but its design was still attractive, especially on the front side. But it lacked in terms of practicality for those who needed a bigger trunk. Thus, the Sedan came on the market in 2006 and was based on the five-door version of the 206. The French automaker added a third volume for the trunk and redesigned the vehicle from the B-posts to the back. Yet, the design was far from being attractive, so customers didn’t rush to place their deposits on this vehicle.

Inside, unlike the regular, French-built 206, the Sedan sported cheap materials, with fabric upholstery and cranked windows for the base model. The dash featured a similar design as the three- or five-door version, but it was built from cheap, hard-plastic materials. As an option, Peugeot offered the car with power windows and air-conditioning.

Under the hood, there was a choice of two gasoline engines that were previously used on the regular 206.
