Vehicle Overview

Based on the Cadillac CTS sedan, the SRX was a taller wagon with an SUV’s styling cues.

The SRX beautifully blended the qualities of a sport sedan while still offering great cargo space and even seating for seven people.

The midsize crossover did not sell very well over the years, as its shape was more wagon-like than the other crossovers on the market at the time.

The luxurious crossover was available in two trim levels, indicating the engine mounted on each of them: V6 and V8.

The V6 trim level included 17-inch alloys, leather upholstery, OnStar communication system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system, an auxiliary audio jack and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Stepping up to the V8, besides the bigger engine, the top of the range added bigger 18-inch alloys, xenon headlamps, heated fron seats, wood accents and a power front passenger seat.

The V6 trim was fitted with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that cranked out 255 hp and 254 pound-feet of torque, mated with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The V8 was equipped with the bigger 4.6-liter V8 engine that developed 320 hp and 315 lb.-ft of torque. This engine was mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Both trim levels were available with a rear-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive system.

Safety wise, the SRX came with antilock disc brakes, stabillity control and frontal and side curtain airbags as standard for the first two rows.
