    Vehicle Overview

In most of the markets the Hyundai Elantra Touring is also known as the Hyundai i30 SW. It is a leap forward from the previous generation and has all the things a family would need from a compact-sized station wagon. Compared to the sedan version, which is called the Elantra everywhere, it is a bit shorter but with a longer wheelbase. Standard trim level comes with 15 inch steel or 17” light-alloy-wheels for the upper trim level.

On the inside, there is room for five. There is a useful 688 liters (24.3 cu ft) of luggage space with the rear seats upright and 1849 liters (65.3 cu ft) with the rear seats folded flat. That is more than a lot of midsize vehicles on the market. Other interior features include a 6-speaker radio-CD and a USB connection for an MP3 player or an iPod. An unusual difference of trim-dependent equipments is on the steering column. On the base model, the steering wheel has only a tilt function, with the telescopic adjustment becoming available only from the second trim level.

Under the hood, for the U.S. market only gasoline engines were available, while for the i30 SW in Europe and rest of the world also had available turbodiesel engines. Both manual and automatic transmissions were available for the i30 SW/Elantra Touring.
