Toyota introduced a facelift for its compact-segment contender Auris in 2015 that affected both the hatchback and the station wagon, known as Touring Sports.

The Japanese carmaker had to update its entire lineup, preparing for the 2015 Euro 6b emission standards. While for other carmakers, that was a very difficult task, for Toyota, things went smoother thanks to its extensive research in environmental protection. Thus, the Auris Touring Sports was the only compact station wagon offered with a choice of gasoline, turbo-diesel, and hybrid powertrains. The carmaker also refreshed the vehicle’s look along with the upgraded engines.

At the front, the car received a new bumper that sported a redesigned, broader, lower grille extended from side to side. That complemented the cooling area offered by the narrower main grille above the bumper. Moreover, the headlights were redesigned and incorporated LED Daytime Running Lights. The back of the car also received substantial changes, such as the new LED taillights that sported bigger reversing lights. Finally, the bumper was fitted with lower, horizontal reflector lamps flanked a slim, chromed line.

Inside, the 2015 Auris Touring Sports featured a redesigned dashboard. Thus, the carmaker installed a new color TFT display between the tachometer and speedometer in the instrument cluster. On the center stack, the infotainment unit was upgraded, while the controls for the HVAC system received a new layout for the buttons. Last but not least, the materials’ quality was improved with softer materials. Like the non-facelifted version, the Auris Touring Sports offered a split-folding rear bench that increased the trunk size from 530 liters (18.7 cu-ft) to 1,658 liters (58.5 cu-ft) when folded flat.

Under the hood, there was a new range of engines, starting with the 1.2-liter turbocharged unit. The 2.0-liter turbo-diesel was ditched in favor of an upgraded 1.6-liter unit. The hybrid version remained the same.
