Sharing its platform with the luxurious RST, the WT version was the base version for the Silverado EV and was introduced by Chevrolet at the beginning of 2023.

GMC developed the ULTIUM platform for several vehicles, including the HUMMER and the Sierra, but also used it when it created Chevrolet Silverado. The bow-tie branded pickup was offered either in a luxurious version, the RST First Edition, or as a Work Truck (WT). Thus, workers could get a low-maintenance, worry-free vehicle for work. In addition, it allowed them to power their tools directly from the vehicle they reached the construction site.

With a front fascia that looked carried over from the Transformer series, the WT sported an unpainted, black front bumper with an impressive bush guard to protect it. Furthermore, on the sides, the automaker installed protective plastic cladding around the wheel fenders and on the side steps. Finally, at the back, the same unpainted, scratch-resistant material for the rear bumper. Steel wheels were fitted as standard, albeit with an option for alloys.

Inside, the WT featured a contrasting design with a high-tech look for the dual-screen dashboard and fabric upholstery that promised to be stain-resistant but not pleasant to touch. Fortunately, as part of the standard package, the vehicle has received AC and power windows for all doors. Thanks to the ULTIUM platform, the automaker was able to install a front trunk for occupants’ belongings and a modulable rear bed for tools and materials. In addition, Chevrolet offered an option for 10.2 kW offboard power, which was enough for working in the field, away from any power outlets.

Power came from a twin-motor setup that provided 510 hp, and the vehicle could tow up to 8,000 lbs (3,628 kg) in the standard version with an option for 20,000 lbs (9,071 kg).
