    Vehicle Overview

The refreshed eighth generation of the 911 marked the introduction of the well-known sports car in the hybrid era, and the GTS version was the first to boast an electrified powertrain.

Ever since the introduction of the 911 nameplate in Porsche’s inventory back in 1964, this sports car was famous for its nimble driving and performance. Furthermore, it became notorious for its reliability and the ability to serve as a daily driver, even though it was feared on race tracks. Over the years, the car grew in size and power, but its shape remained largely the same. Furthermore, its flat engines, with either four or six cylinders, became the epitome of the brand. In 2019, Porsche introduced the eighth generation of the 911, also known as the 992 generation, and five years later, in 2024, it refreshed the lineup. The new version was significantly improved in all areas, from the vehicle’s look to the interior and the drivetrain.

At the front, the 2025 Porsche 911 GTS sported a new front fascia. Its lower bumper didn’t have the turn signal lamps installed on it. The automaker moved them inside the headlights, which were available with LEDs or HD matrix LEDs with more than 32,000 light points. On the lower side of the bumper, the apron sported a pair of side scoops with five vertical flaps that could open or close and divert the airflow towards the rotors or the radiators, depending on the car’s needs.

From its profile, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS kept its overall shape but had some aces up its sleeves. It rode on 20-inch alloy wheels at the front and 21-inch ones at the back. Unlike the regular Carrera, which had a five-lug pattern, the GTS version came with a center lock. Another unique detail was the introduction of the smoked turn signal lamps from the sides, mounted in front of the front wheel arches. At the back, the refreshed Carrera GTS sported new fins above the engine lid, featuring the symbolic red lines of the 992 generation embedded in the middle. Porsche also redesigned the rear bumper, which featured dual exhausts mounted closer to the center instead of on the sides, like in the 2019 Porsche Carrera GTS.

Inside, the most significant update was noticed on the dashboard. Along with the refreshed 992 generation of the 911, Porsche introduced a completely digital instrument panel. It featured a 14.6-inch curved display that customers could customize according to their tastes and needs. Those who still wanted to see the tachometer in the center could do that. Above the center stack, the automaker placed a touchscreen for the infotainment system. Customers could order the car with sports seats that featured integrated headrests embroidered with the GTS lettering.

However, the most significant update for the vehicle was found under its skin. The 2025 Porsche Carrera GTS featured a redeveloped engine that featured a pair of turbochargers carried over from the Turbo lineup. The torque remained the same as in the 2019 model year. However, its peak moment was at 2,000 rpm, 200 revolutions per minute earlier than its predecessor. In addition, an electric motor helped the vehicle accelerate quicker than the previous Carrera GTS. Starting with the 2025 model year, the GTS came fitted as standard with all-wheel steering and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control.
